#### Entrance

As for every year, entrance at Hackmeeting is free, but always keep in
mind that Hackmeeting has a cost and subscriptions are necessary to the
survival of the event!
If you're planning to come before Friday, great! We ask, however, to inform us in advance so that we can organize it.
#### Who is organizing?
#### Where to stay
Hackmeeting is a yearly meeting of a community that communicates through
a mailing list. There is no distinction between organizers and users.
Everyone can subscribe and partecipate in the organization by visiting
the site www.hackmeeting.org and entering the community.
Logistic details are yet to come.
#### What is an hacker?
Who wants to arrive *before* the beginning of Hackmeeting is welcome and will have hospitality, as stated in the [call for support]({filename}calls.en.md#call-for-support)
Hackers are curious persons, always eager to discover how things are
done. Be it technology or less, hackers reclaim freedom to experiment,
disassemble and reassemble things or concepts, to understand how they
are done and how to repeat and improve them. Hackers solve problems and
build things, believing in freedom and sharing. They do not love closed
systems. Hackers forma mentis is not restricted to the field of
software hacking: there are people that keep the hacker mentality in
every existing field, driven by their creative impulse.
#### Who helds the seminaries?
Whoever wants. If someone wants to propose a seminar, he just has to
propose it on the mailing list. If the proposal is well received, it
gets on calendar. If there are some problems, the community will be
happy to help improve the proposal.
#### Whats in there, besides seminars?
There is a LAN space, as to say an area dedicated to the web: everyone
can plug their laptop, forming a web with the other partecipants. In
general, this is the right place to meet other attendees, to ask for
help in installing Linux, to solve a doubt, or just to have a chat.
Hackmeeting is an open-air festival, a meeting, an hacking party, a
moment of consideration, an occasion to learn something together, an act
of riot, an exhange of ideas, experiences, dreams, utopies.
How much does the entrance cost? How is the event financed?
Traditionally, entrance in Hackmeeting is totally free: always keep in
mind that organizing the event has a cost. Expenses are sustained
through voluntary contributions, selling shirts and other gadgets and
sometimes through the earnings of the bar.
#### Where to sleep
Hackmeeting will be held near to an open green space: we suggest to
bring sleeping bags, mattressess and tents to camp. In case of rain, a
covered space will be organized.
If you want to arrive before Hackmeetings beginning, see the call for
support.
#### Where and what to eat
Even the management of the kitchen is self-organized and we encourage you to cooperate. As every year, we will respect the needs of each diet, therefore we will prepare vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free food and so on. If you have some special preference, write it in the list.
There is a self-organized kitchen, and we invite everyone to
partecipate. As for every year, alimentary necessities of every type
will be respected, so there will be vegetarian and vegan meals,
gluten-free meals and so on. If you have some necessity, write it in the
list.
#### What can I bring
If you're planning to use a computer, bring it along with a power strip. Do not forget a network device of any kind (see Ethernet cables, switches, and / or WiFi devices). Also remember to bring all the hardware you want to hack with others and do not forget the material for sleep (sleeping bag, soft keyboard or other). During the event the Internet is not guaranteed, so, if you think you need it, you can bring a 3G pendrive and the need to share it with friends! In general, try to be tecnologically self-sufficient.
If you want to bring a computer, take a power strip too. Do not forget
web devices (like Ethernet cables, switches, wi-fi). Remember to bring
the hardware that you will want to hack in company, and do not forget
sleeping equipment (see “Where to sleep”). No Internet connection is
guaranteed during the event so, if you think that you need it, bring a
3G stick with you and the necessary to share it with friends! Try to be
as independent as possible regarding your hardware.
#### What is a warmup
#### May I arrive before Friday?
The warmup events are "preparatory" to hackmeeting. They take place around Italy, and can handle the most diverse subjects.
Do you want to arrive sooner? Wonderful! In the preceding days there is
always much to do (prepare web infrastructure, prepare seminar halls and
many other things) so any helping hand is well accepted. See the call
for support to know more.
#### Coming earlier
#### How are people expected to behave
You want to come before the "official" hackmeeting beginning? Great! In the previous days, there's always something to do (setting up network infrastructure, preparing the seminar rooms, and much more!) so your help is really welcome. We just ask you to let us know of your coming so that we can be better organized.
Hackmeeting is a self-managed space, a temporary independent space and
whoever passes through is expected to behave according to the principles
of antisexism, antiracism and antifascism. If you are victim or witness
of an act of oppression, aggression, brute force, port scan, ping flood
and other nonconsensual DOS and you do not know how to react, always
count on the communitys support and do not hesitate to attract
attention and ask for help.
#### List
For now you are on the [Wiki](https://lab.dyne.org/Hackmeeting2015/it/WarmUp)
#### Propose a warmup
You want to do a warmup? excellent!
Subscribe to the [mailing list of hackmeeting](https://www.autistici.org/mailman/listinfo/hackmeeting).
Write in mailing list about your warmup: there is no need for any "official approval", but report it in the list it's still a useful step to promote the debate and communication.
Tell us about you in the [Wiki](https://lab.dyne.org/Hackmeeting2015/it/WarmUp). The wiki needs authentication, and you can find the password in the [hackmeeting mailing list files](https://lists.autistici.org/list/hackmeeting.html).
#### How are people supposed to behave
Hackmeeting is a self-managed space, a temporarily autonomous zone, and
everybody who takes part in it has a responsibility in ensuring that everything that happens during the event respects the principles of antisexism, antiracism and antifascism.
In case you are targeted by or witness oppressive attitudes, personal attacks,
harassment, brute force, port scan, ping flood and other kinds of non-consesual
DOS and you don't know how to respond or mitigate the attack, count on the whole community's support and don't hesitate to publicly report the abuse and to ask for help.
#### Can I take pictures, record videos, post, tag, share, upload?
We think that every participant should have the freedom to choose the
breadth of their privacy and public profiles; therefore, at Hackmeeting taking pictures and/or videos is only accepted if this is clearly signalled and previously authorized by the people in the picture/video.
May I take photos, make videos, post, tag, share, upload?
We think that the freedom to choose the dimensions of ones own private
sphere and public profile must be guaranteed to every participant: in
this spirit, photos and/or videos are admitted only if explicitely
pointed and autorized by every person that appears in the media.
